Hello Marjorie, Thank you for your inquiry. The headboard for this item is shipped pre-assembled. Assembly will be required for the headboard to the rails and the rails to the footboard to complete the bed.

- I want to make sure that the headboard can fit in the elevator, so I measured the dimensions of the elevator. The length is 70", the width is 45" and the height is 82". Can you please tell me if it will fit to go in the elevator before i make the purchase? I am also interested in the small brown 2 drawers nightstand that is around 150 something when purchase as a set with the headboard. Please make sure both can fit in elevator for me. Asked by Angie

Thank you for your inquiry. The queen headboard is 47" H x 66" W x 89" D and the king headboard is 47" H x 81" W x 89" D. I would definitely rule out the king headboard as it will not fit. The queen may fit in the elevator on an angle, but not standing straight up. The weight of the queen headboard is 137 lbs.
